Jeff began his career in hospital laboratory services and served 12 years in lab operations for HCA from 1993 to 2005. During this time Jeff served as the Chemistry Supervisor and became credentialed as a CAP (College of American Pathologists) inspector conducting several hospital and reference lab inspections.
In 2005 Jeff joined PathGroup Labs, one of the largest private providers of pathology services in the US, serving the reference lab in the clinical lab services division for nine years (2005-2014). While at PathGroup, Jeff was Assistant VP of Clinical operations responsible for leading PathGroup’s LIS, Accessioning, Phlebotomy, and Clinical diagnostic testing departments (Chemistry, Special Chemistry, Toxicology, Infectious disease, Hematology, Microbiology, and Urinalysis) which consisted of more than 350 employees. In addition to the operational oversight, Jeff served on PathGroup’s compliance committee representing regulatory compliance for Phlebotomy operations as well as clinical diagnostic coding and billing practices.
Dr. Howard Taylor
PhD, Biochemistry, Medical College of Georgia
Dr. Taylor is a nationally known toxicologist with over 30 years experience. He is board certified by both the American Board of Forensic Toxicology (ABFT) and the American Board of Clinical Chemistry with a specialty in Toxicology (ABCC-Toxicology). He did a post-doctoral fellowship at the Medical University of South Carolina in Clinical Chemistry and Toxicology. Dr. Taylor then served as a faculty member at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences where he was the Director of Clinical Chemistry and Toxicology and was promoted to Associate Professor with Tenure in the Department of Pathology.
He has been laboratory director of the National Reference Laboratory Clinical Toxicology Laboratory and also the Forensic Drug Testing SAMHSA certified laboratory and later started his own business, National Toxicology Specialists. Dr. Taylor is the author of two books and over a dozen book chapters as well as over 30 publications appearing in peer-reviewed scientific journals, and he is in demand as a toxicology consultant and speaker. In addition, he continues to serve as a SAMHSA Laboratory Inspector under the National Laboratory Certification Program (NLCP).
Genetics Research & Development Supervisor

Joe began his career in the Division of Genetic Medicine at Vanderbilt University where he developed mutation screening assays used for DNA fragment analysis. From 2004 to 2014, Joe worked for Applied Biosystems (later named Life Technologies) as a field-based engineer. His responsibilities included installing and repairing high tech instrumentation used in DNA Sequencing and Real-Time PCR applications, as well as training laboratory technicians on instrument usage and data analysis software. Prior to joining Addiction Labs, Joe worked for a company that developed and managed toxicology and genetic testing laboratories. Due to his experience with the instrumentation, he was an integral part of implementing, validating, training staff and managing the pharmacogenetic departments of three commercial reference laboratories during 2014-2015.
